Who are we?

We are a family owned and operated oyster farm, located in Hollywood, Maryland. We bring you craft cultivated oysters grown on the beautiful Patuxent River.

What is the meaning of our company name?

Our name, Loose Stones, derived from the Algonquin tongue meaning of Patuxent, “water running over loose stones”[1].  This reminded us of how our oysters grow; loose in bags, using natural water flow to shape, clean, and flavor them.

What sets us apart from other oyster companies?

Having a smaller farm allows us to craft-cultivate our oysters.  We provide our oysters with the utmost attention from planting to harvesting.  This allows us to consistently provide our customers with an exceptionally clean, well-shaped and flavorful oyster.
